burning iso dvd disk

Burning ISO to DVD disk

I am using Nero 6 and burned the ISO to a disk. I did this twice and both times when I restarted my computer it failed to recognize the disk. I used "burn data dvd" because it gave me some UDF error when trying to make bootable DVD disk

Both are incorrect. You want to select the option to create a disk from an image. With this option, browse to the ISO file that you downloaded and use that as the image from which to create the disk. -- Tom Porterfield

I used Nero 6 and burned both the x86 and the x64 .ISO onto DVD+RW discs and both DVDs installed Vista flawlessly!
You should not be "trying to make a bootable DVD!" The .ISO is a bootable image. All you do is select "Burn Image to Disc." I opened Nero Express and selected "Disc Image or Saved Project" and then selected the .ISO file I wanted to burn. That's all there is to it. Very simple!

Well when I put the DVD in the drive, I burned it using "Data DVD" I am not clear on your statement. Using Nero 6 where do I go. I select the ISO image and burned it twice. When I started my computer, it didnt recognize the disk. Thanks!

I am not sure on your statement. I burned it using data DVD and select the ISO image and it burned to the DVD. When I restarted it did not recognize the image and would start up. I burned the DVD twice. Thanks!

If you open Nero StartSmart, make sure you have DVD selected at the top center, then click on the "Copy and Backup" icon (second from the right) and finally "Burn Image to Disc."
If you open Nero Burning ROM, you select "DVD-ROM(ISO)"
If you open Nero Express, you select "Disc Image or Saved Project"
Any one of the 3 methods will copy the .ISO image to a disc.

and apparently, you may have to burn at low speed to get it done right I was using my DVD8X recorder to burn at 4x on a 16x media to get useable disk despite my PC is athlon x64 37--+. and I was using Fujifilm not generic. I generic I tried failed even at 1x!

Not to be cruel, but if you can't burn a simple ISO, even with help, you may not be quite up to the task of installing or using a beta OS.

I don't know how to explain it any clearer. You want to create a disk from an image, not burn a data file to the disk. If the many options in Nero are confusing you, then download and use BurnCDCC from http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/utilities.html, as that only does one thing, burn images to disk. -- Tom Porterfield

One thing you can do is click on the Nero Express button. Then click on Disk Image or Saved Project. Then open the ISO file. Click the Verify data on disc after burning box. Then click on Next.

SAN,
I
just did the same thing in mine as well, Nero that is. You have to go to the DVD section and write the .iso as an image. Select "Burn Image", navigate to the file on your HD and burn. Worked fine for me.

I know the RC2 distribution was relatively speaking much more limited than RC1 -- I actually had MS send me a copy of RC1. Did that guarantee a copy of RC2? (don't remember them saying as much, but just wondering)

Short answer: NO. RC2 was a limited distribution, and as soon as it was met, it was pulled from the web.
